Agreed. (Even worse is when a condition gets buried at the end of the
sentence. "Select Replace from the Edit menu if you need to <blah blah
blah>.")

But I'm not crazy about using symbols in this context. I use words but put
the top-level menu first: "From the Edit menu, select Replace."
