Yeah, I think we're on the same page...totally agree with you. At a previous employer, I had to repeatedly interject myself in marcomm projects to show them the value add I (as a writer/editor) could bring to the team that consisted of marketing/product engineers and not a writer amongst them! After a few repeated attempts, I became a regular "sign-off" person...I don't know if it was my training them or just being a pain in the rear, but they finally acquiesced.
