Granted, as the "800-pound gorilla" of the telecomms field, they DO seem to
set the standards that others must conform to, but they also facilitate
interoperability. No one in this area of the business could survive without
that kind of provision.

I bow to the correct stating of conditions for Cisco. Lucent is finding that because they are not as flexibly as Cisco, and because they are not willing to move to more interoperability with their customers, that they are losing market share, and guess to whom?
