It will be interesting to see how this poll on certification goes. I think
the reason the STC has made no progress on this issue may be that there is a
majority who is against certification. A few years ago (3?), I received a
survey from the STC that asked several pages of excruciatingly detailed
questions on attitudes toward certification. I have never seen any results
from this survey, but perhaps the results showed that the membership as a
whole was not in favor of pursuing certification.
