The problem with the reference books is that they cover things that you do
not have to do.

The XML tutorial at http://www.w3schools.com is sufficient to get you
started on XML. The key improvement to the whole XML/HTML paradigm lately is
data islands. Data islands makes presenting XML data easy. If it isn't
described in the tutorial, check the Microsoft XML site.
