As is often the case, it depends...

For printed material:

If the sections are numbered then I would say as detailed in Section x.y
If the sections aren't numbered I may use such a phrase just to let the reader knwo that it IS covered

In online help there is no need for it at all.  I would say as described in <insert topic name> and make it a link to said topic so the reader can go there straight away if that's what they want.  Alternately, depending on the context, it could go as a link in the 'See Also' bit at the end of the topic.
