(Mark Tipple mumbled:)

Will 'they' eventually develop an application that will generate it's own
documentation? Will it come with a user manual?

Will genetically enhanced individuals come with a user manual? I see a whole
new market for technical writers.
Break out your Palm XII.

<I rant: Curses on this possibility!>
An application that generates it's own documentation?? Bread line, where are
you? Thankfully, as a policy and procedures writer, I won't have to worry
about that (I hope). But, Mark presents a scary thought that could be
probable fifty years down the Super Highway. Would auto-generated
documentation be developers' method of eliminating us from their project
teams?

Mark, those genetically-enhanced individuals, per your thought, would
generate their own documentation. Don't you think?

On-topic rhetorical question.... What is our future as technical
communicators? I know we've discussed this in the past, ad nauseum. I'm just
behind on reading my e-mails in the Emerging Technologies STC SIG (sorry,
John).

Is there a listserv for policy and procedures writers? Our future sounds
secure!
