There's a neat book called "Editors on Editing: What Writers Need To
Know About What Editors Do." It's essays by editors about the editing
process. It's been awhile since I looked at it, and it's not directed
specifically at technical editors, but one of the comments I remember
well is that editors who are really frustrated writers make bad editors.
The point being that editors need to keep their egos at bay.

Anyway, I think it's worth a look for anyone doing editing, even if
you're just doing a peer edit for the writer in the next cube.
