Here's a contribution to the ongoing discussion of the job market:

My local paper as well as an on-line article released this morning
both suggest that high-tech layoffs from large companies are
benefiting smaller companies, including start-ups (and, yes, there
are still some around). As a result, the recent round of layoffs
could result in a small hiring boom in the next few weeks.

Wise blood,the sky's on fire: away, away,
Wild wood, bush and briar, it makes your heart to tremble;
Love, you mustn't tire at the dying of the day."
