How in the world would someone in the "negotiation phase" be able to make a
good decision about what tool we should be using when they have not worked a
day in the company? Would you really expect me, as someone interviewing you,
to say, "You are absolutely right, you know so much more about my company
than I do, we should switch tools just because you say so."

I'm hoping I mis-read your statement.
