Personally, I don't think there are many GOOD books written as an
introduction to programming.
Most books are introductions to languages, be it Qbasic, VB, Java, Python,
whatever. While most introductory books offer "no prior programming
experience needed", more often than not, that particular claim is Bravo
Sierra.

I think a book that offers language-independent primers on programming
concepts (loops, conditionals, methods, classes, ect) would be a big help to
non-programmers wanting to take the plunge and try to learn a computer
language (would have helped me).
