Right now, the PalmIIIxe is the best buy. They're discontinuing
this model, so it's selling for $150 if you can find one. It has
the newer screen, the newest operating system, and the most
memory.

Personally, I'm saving up my quarters for a TRGpro. It's basically
the same machine as the IIIxe, but it's been modified with real
audio hardware and a CompactFlash slot. It's $300, though, and I
only have 9 rolls of quarters saved up.

The main thing to pay attention to when buying Palm devices is
whether the operating system is stored in Flash Memory or ROM.
Systems that store the OS in ROM cannot be upgraded, but they
are usually cheaper to buy. If you don't care about upgradeability,
this may be a good trade-off.
