Hi,

just curious about this use of OT as an acronym. People presumably mean it
as "off topic", but it could also stand for "on topic"; the opposite
meaning.

I get very annoyed with the over-use of acronyms in IT (go hard with the
puns, Bevan!), particularly so when the same acronym is used for more than
one meaning. E.g. ASP means either Application Service Provider or Active
Server Page.

I wish there was some kind of approving body/W3C type organisation for
these. But, I guess there's no way of controlling these things; they just
seem to spring up.
