Hi Michele. [drumroll] It depends. [rimshot] ;)

What are the graphics of? Screen shots? Photographs?
Line art? And how are you getting them into the PDF?
Are you working directly with Acrobat, or with
Word/FrameMaker/other tool?

TIF, JPG and GIF are all bitmapped formats, but each
one has its own unique qualities and limitations. TIF
files are intended for printing, while JPG and GIF are
meant for online viewing. With that said, the type of
information each file format contains and is
restricted to differs.

Of course, all this is pointless if you are creating
PDFs that convert and compress the images upon
creation. That is controlled in the setup dialog when
printing to PDF/distilling.

So I guess what I'm saying is that I need a lot more
information before being able to give you a remotely
useful answer. *g*
