Anyway, I've found it interesting, as I've matured
as a technical writer, that my interest in
controlling my environment in terms of style-guide
type decisions has waned, and the sense of freedom
I feel at _not_ having to think about 1295 different
"choose, select, or pick" issues is incredible.

I like knowing that the editor down the hall is
sitting
in meetings to determine what standards will be
followed (with my input, if I choose to provide it),
and I can turn my attention to the technologies and
how best to communicate them. I really couldn't care
less about _which_ standards we follow, with a few
exceptions, and love not dealing with that stuff
when I could be dealing with toys...er...subject
matter.

Really, it's quite cool.
