It's an interesting idea, but keep in mind that images are just as
culture-dependent as language, maybe more so since they occur in a context
that is typically not culturally neutral. Everyday objects can look very
different depending on who designed them. Even houses look different
depending on the culture. That little house icon on your browser looks like
a pretty typical North American house. In other climates, that pitched roof
isn't as common. The example I use most often is the little mailbox icon
that so many email applications used to use. Works fine for rural North
America. Doesn't make any sense at all for folks in Europe (looks more like
a railroad tunnel to them).
Along with issues of syntax, you would have a lot of work ahead of you
since you're essentially coming up with one or more new written languages.
It could be a worthwhile effort, but it would be a lot of work.
