I use the equation editor in Frame to do the X-Bar symbol, then shrink-wrap
it for in text terms. I like this method because it is typographically
consistent with any equations that I might include in a document. I try to
be consistent as when inserting equations as well. I use small equations
for in text or single line equations found in paragraphs. I use medium to
insert equations that appear between paragraphs like a graphic
(unshrink-wrapped). I can then globally control size/font issues for
equations throughout the whole document from the equation dialog box.
I think Word equations can use a similar method to placement, one
character/single line or a whole equation.

Hey everyone,
Anyone know an easy way to create a symbol in Word for the mathematical term
"mean" or x-bar. The symbol looks like a minus sign sitting above a x.
I've been able to accomplish this in Frame by applying a overline character
format to an X, but any thought as to how to go about doing this in Word?
