You can use "Bitmap to Icon" (freeware available on
the WWW) to convert your .bmp files to .ico.  Or you
can create .ico files directly with:

Microangelo 5.0 (which I found easy to use, free
download also)
OR
Iccedit by Great Owl software (free trial period,
shareware)
and probably many others...
