Subject:HTML Help vs. WinHelp From:"Davis, Michele" <MDavis -at- tricord -dot- com> To:"TECHWR-L" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- raycomm -dot- com> Date:Sun, 4 Feb 2001 10:36:37 -0600
Hey, I'm working on a project where there are two different pieces of
software. One is a GUI and the company wants to use WinHelp, the second
program, after you launch the GUI is browser-based. They want a url
designated for the browser-based software.
I want to use HTML Help for everything, but the engineers are trying to tell
me that it would be HARDER to code HTML Help in to the GUI then doing
WinHelp.
I feel the product needs consistency, and I also feel directing a user to a
url without an index seems ludicrous.
Does anyone know anything about the differences in coding HTML Help and
WinHelp to a GUI? The other GUI's I've worked on used HTML Help and it
wasn't an issue.
I feel like I'm talking in circles when I attempt to explain this stuff to
the developers.
Argh!!!!
Michele
