If I wanted to be in management, I'd be in management. Frankly, I'd rather have hot needles stuck in my eyes. You may find this surprising, Andrew, but for many of us, living *your* life, including the oft-mentioned Mercedes, would be pure hell. Glad *you* like it, though.

But back to the orignal topic... I have tried working from home (contracting, not telecommuting) and found it did not work for me. I'm one of those people who has to leave the house physically in order to leave it behind mentally (sadly, the things that tempt me when I'm supposed to be working from home, such as vacuuming, never seem to attract me on the weekend). But there are people who can and do make it work, and it would be silly for me to assume *my* personal experience is the model for everyone else.
