This may not be exactly the type of book you're looking for, but I'd suggest
the Software Project Survival Guide by Steve McConnell (ISBN: 1572316217).

Subject: Book Recommendations?

I am interested in expanding & updating my existing library to include new
books (or old)on the following programming languages: HTML, DHTML, VB, ASP,
COM, C++, and XML. (Intro level)

My interest or goal is to further improve my writing of API's and SDK's in
a software and system development environment.

Also interested in any book suggestions in support of the SDLC (Software or
System Development Life Cycle) and quality asssurance testing of software
applications (QA Test).

Thanks in advance...
