I hear ya. At my previous employer, tech writers and others were blocked
from seeing the financial aspects of proposals ("need to know" excuse), which
hampered my ability to justify a big annual bonus, which was based completely
on business development. So I got a piddly $1,000 while my old boss, whose
only role in proposals was to assign people from his group, got $26,500!
