There is a difference between feeding kids and making them prepare
the food for themselves. There are a numbe of things that are made
for 10 year olds...doesn't mean that the 10 year old is responsible
for making it. Rectal thermometers are mostly for children...Do you
want a 10 year old sticking a slim piece of glass into another 10
year old?

Boiling water, stove tops, open flame, or glowing electric stove
elements are not for children.
