I tend to agree with Bruce. If you're the first one to mention money, then
you've blinked first. When people ask me what salary I'm looking for, I ask:
"What's the salary range for the position?" If I can get a range, then I
know what to shoot for. If they balk or resist giving out that information,
I tell them I can't provide an accurate number without knowing what the
boundaries are. I don't want to quote a figure that eliminates me from
consideration, so having the knowledge of the salary range makes it fair for
both parties.
