BTW - What exactly is the rationale for total
avoidance of the passive voice? In some cases you may
<want> to hide responsibility, or be politically
correct (i.e., in a memo which brings bad news,
perhaps sales are down and the memo is to the
salesforce; you might choose to say 'Fewer widgets
were sold blah blah blah..." as opposed to "You sold
fewer widgets...").   Or, the agent performing the
action is so well understood that it is not necessary
or even clumsy to state it (i.e., "Billy was arrested"
as opposed to "The police arrested Billy." 


Why, then, is passive so totally verboten? Just
curious.
