Michael,

Information Mapping is primarily a technique, but the company that teaches
it also provides technical writing templates that can be used with Word and
other DTPs. Information Mapping's website ( http://www.infomap.com/) has
information on the method, description of the seminars, and a downloadable
seminar schedule.

My original technical writing experience was using Information Mapping, and
it greatly influences me, even when we're not "officially" using it. I've
found it to be a pretty useful technique.
