An alternative is to install Ghostscript
This will handle both PDF and Postscript. Options in the install give you
plugins for various browsers. You can also use Ghostscript only for Postscript
files, leaving PDF to Acrobat if you like.
The only problem I've seen with it (using it on 95, 98, NT4 with Netscape)
is that there's a patch you need to add before it handles authenticated
(signed) PDF files.
