I'm not familiar with LaTeX (other than having a general idea of how it works),
but I immediately thought of HTML as the bridge between Word and LaTeX. From
what I understand, there are LaTeX to HTML converters (and possibly vice versa)
and of course there is a Word to HTML converter. (I saw some converters/scripts
on the web.) I haven't tried it myself, so sorry if this is an obvious,
already tried and failed solution -- but if you haven't already thought of it,
maybe it is worth considering? Each person can work in their own environment
and convert the docs -- the docs can then be merged using any HTML tool and
converted to PDF, Word, whatever. LaTeX gurus -- is a feasible solution?
