Coming from the perspective of a full-time Tele-commuter I can tell you its
not a piece of cake. When my wife got a job in another state I asked my
employer is I could telecommute full time. Much to my surprise they agreed
and I have struggled with it ever since. Its true that you get incredible
amounts of work done, but you do have to balance that with the distractions
of being at home. The only thing I could tell you is if the individual has
a strong work ethic then they shouldn't have any problem adjusting. But, if
the person is a goof off at work then forget it. There is no way they would
do a one eighty at home.

Keep in mind though you only specified a few days a week. It's much easier
to keep track of people when they do come into the office. I work from home
7 days a week and only see my boss about 3/4 times a year. I bet I struggle
with how she perceives me more than she thinks of my productivity. Maybe
I'm an exception....
