Years ago I got a markup from a phone-support guy who'd scribbled on one
page of my user-manual draft, "Just, just, JUST!" I'd written that word
three times on one page. I now beat myself up over using "just," "simply,"
"you could," and the like. Now my writing's more terse overall but (I hope)
less distracting.

I might lighten up on myself occasionally when writing marcom or a
newsletter piece, but otherwise, just the facts, ma'am.
