Re: piracy
I very rarely bother to fill out the registration card (paper or electronic)
when I get new software. Most of the time the only "benefit" I get from
registering is a bunch of junk mail sent to my house. I guess you could say
that most of my software is "unregistered."

If the software is sold with a "single user" license, what am I supposed to
do if my spouse and I both use it on our home computer? Do we need two
copies of the software installed on the same computer in order for us to
each have a legally licensed copy at our fingertips?

Re: techie garage sale...
Some people would argue that by selling the software to someone else or even
giving it away, you're "cheating" the manufacturer out of the money they
would be making if the other person bought a new copy. However, at your
garage sale you're likely selling clothes your kids outgrew before they wore
them out. It could be argued that the clothing manufacturer is getting
cheated out of the money they could be making if folks bought their
two-year-olds brand new clothes from the store rather than shopping at your
garage sale. But how many of us think about that when we put a sticker
labeled "50 cents" on a pair of little Levi's and toss them on the card
table in the middle of the garage?
