I am a technical writer in an R&D department who either writes or reviews
every word written about my product line before it leaves the company.
Control freak - no, it is all part of my job. At other companies I have done
more marketing work, more educational materials, more HR work or more R&D
writing, but they've all been under the title "technical writer". This
variety is part of the reason I love my job.
