Darren,
What a coincidence--I was just wondering about this same
subject, only on the winhelp list! I only got one reply, so
either few use Flash in online help, or those who do weren't
monitoring the list.
I could imagine this as the interface for a help system: the TOC
is fast; clicking a TOC link could show an overview topic, with
subsequent links there..... The only problem is the download
time: I have a very slow congested connection. I was willing to
wait for the download in this instance, but certainly not if I were
looking for application help. BUT if the Flash help file was
already stored on my system with the application, it would be
very fast.
I've never used Flash, so I don't really know how practical
it is for TWs to use. For sure it's aimed at designers. I think
you are right, though, to learn it if you can. Good luck!
