To the casual observer it would appear that my page was in some way
related to the banner ad /info above. Is this a case of copyright
infringement or plagiarism?

This sort of framing has been the subject of at least a couple of lawsuits in the United States. Some lawyers seem to think that it may constitute copyright or trademark infringement.
