If you have any experience using the required tool at all, tell them that. I
never did understand the years requirements for jobs-- it would be more
appropriate to ask things like, how many projects have you created with the
tool, describe their complexity, have you used such-and-such feature, etc. I
saw one job ad that required 10-15 years' experience with a tool. Maybe this
is because I'm only 25 and haven't done anything but walk and talk for that
long, I don't get what a person learns about a tool in the second or third
five years of using it.
Concentrate on your strengths-- tell them how you you're an expert in their
field, understand their specific doc needs, and can fill them.
