For starters, disable Fast Save. This function saves only the changed part
of the file and just adds it onto the original file.
Also, go to Tools\Track Changes\Highlight Changes. Select Track Changes
While Editing. Deselect Highlight changes on screen and Highlight changes in
printed document.
Save your document (once again) and then select Tools\Track Changes\Accept
or Reject changes. Select changes with highlighting and click Find. You can
either go through the entire document and accept each individual change or
Accept All. When this is done, save your document. This will reduce the file
size to what it should be.
Word:
Fast Save = saves only new changes and adds them to file, does not remove
anything from file size.
Track Changes=If this feature is not turned on, ALL changes ever performed
on the document are saved in the file.
Hope this helps
