This is a little late, but better safe than sorry about not posting at all.

I would say that there is a conflict of interest, as well as a 'real'
need to address the 'non-compete' clause.

You're skating on thin ice from what I can see.

Two companies are competing for the same dollar from the client.

I don't know the circumstances by which you went from 'contracting company
A'
to working for 'contracting company B'.  If it was not a 'friendly'
severance,
there may be additional challenges to face.

Is there a 'friendly opposition' between your 'past' and 'present company?
