I like the idea of having mentoring be a possibility through the web site...
and would be willing to participate if such a service was offered.

Connie, I like this idea. If it can work through the site, then
those listers
who wish to participate can fill out some sort of questionnaire and
let the
newbies pick from the list--invite a relationship, get to know the
other a bit
and see if it would work. That would allow the newbies to pick based
on specific
disclosed information, one on one communication, as well as prior
posts to the
list.

Besides my original questions, what do y'all think of this idea?

Outstanding idea! I think mentoring can only help everyone, newbies

veterans alike. Newbies gain the benefit of another's experience,
support
and networking contacts. Veterans gain fresh ideas, new networking
contacts,
and a new take on managing people.

I would love to have some opportunities to do so. Eric, perhaps
this could
be a new feature on the Whirlers site, allowing those of us who
would like
to mentor an opportunity to match up with new whirlers who'd like to
be
mentored?
