TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
Just to update you, the issue is still under discussion, but the
figures we are discussing are about 12% higher than my hourly rate as
a tech writer. (San Francisco Bay area) We are discussing a contract
to perm arrangement.
To put things in perspective, I also am a subject matter expert, and
I will be doing course development, as well as delivering training.
Come to think of it, now I feel I need a raise.
My goal is to grow this into a manager of training and documentation position.
Thanks for your inputs, I'll keep you posted.
